For the last couple of years I’ve searched high and low for my ‘purpose’. I looked everywhere you could imagine, even under the couch cushions (which is where I usually find the things I’m looking for: car keys, the remote, my phone, plus a few old corn chips) but I just couldn’t find it anywhere. I believed my purpose to be big, like Oprah big. That I was here on earth to make a massive difference and be hugely successful. Anything less than Oprah would be a great let down.

Now hunting might not be the nicest metaphor to use, but I feel it’s appropriate in this case. It requires patience, awareness and stillness, plus you must have a target in sight. So picture me, rifle in hand, dressed from head to toe in fluro, blasting ‘Walking on Sunshine’ out of a ghettoblaster while skipping through the fields letting rounds fly. That’s how I went about my hunt. Nothing incognito about it, and not a target in sight.

Then one day, when I turned down the volume on the ghettoblaster long enough to listen, something inside me told me it was time to let go. To stop chasing this notion of ‘purpose’ and perfection. I noticed I was spending so much time hunting I was no longer living in the moment and enjoying all that I had.

So, I changed my target. I’d no longer hunt down my purpose like a deer in the headlights. Instead, I’d start doing the things I love. Just because they brought me joy. Things that lit me on fire from the inside. I decided my purpose was to do nothing more than savour those moments of love and happiness.

Things began to shift. I stopped trying to control everything. I saw beauty in the imperfect. I explored the things that made me feel alive. I started to listen to my body.

You see, your body has a lot to say, but rarely do we stop and listen to it. I’d spent a good period of time completely disconnected from both my body and emotions. It was a quite a journey to reconnect. I had to retrain myself to recognise happiness, sadness, anger, love. Step by step I’d access these emotions and store them in a safe place where they’d be easily found next time they were required.

Your body and emotions are like a compass. They tell you when you are aligned with your values and on purpose. Joy, love, excitement tells us we are traveling down the right path. Anger, sadness or jealously shows us we might have taken a little detour. Sometimes to work out what you want, you need to know what you don’t want. Then you can adjust your aim and take another shot.

The more I listened to my body, the more it responded. Soon I began to recognise the way certain emotions resonated inside my body. How they felt. Where I felt them. Excitement was a fire in my belly. Fear, a lump in my throat. Happiness, an all over warm glow. Sadness felt cold and heavy. I stopped and listened further, slowly starting to trust what they were trying to tell me, and finally found the courage to act upon it.

I’m an ideas person. My brain is a busy place filled with exciting adventures and endless possibilities. It’s like a highly efficient production line. One idea after another travels down the conveyer belt while passionate skilled workers stand either side picking out the duds and allowing the good stuff through. When the workers come across an outstanding idea it’s manifests in my body as goosebumps.

So, I listen to the goosebumps and I move in their direction. I know where there are goosebumps, a little further on lies that fire in my belly and the all over warm glow… Delicious!

Where there are opportunities for growth and expansion, you can pretty much guarantee a visit from fear and doubt. The fear, the overwhelm, the doubt, they are all there to protect us and keep us safe in our comfort zone. However, the walls around this comfort zone are so tight there is little room for anything else to fit in, like joy, or love. I say, feel the fear and do it anyway.

When you push through that fear, the boundaries around your comfort zone begin to bend, move or break apart altogether. What lives on the other side of the walls you’ve built around yourself? Everything you’ve ever wanted and deserve. In the moment you can’t see it for the wall in your way but know that it’s all there waiting for you. You’ve just got to trust and leap, or grab a sledgehammer and smash through it.

The goosebumps, fire in my belly and all over warm glow are now my compass in life. I’ve readjusted my aim. My senses are on high alert, and while might not wear camo (out in public) or have a rifle in my hands, I’m patient, still, aware and ready. I now have my sights set on living a life I enjoy and deserve. I’m locked, loaded and ready to fire, shooting down the walls of doubt and fear. I’m on target. And THAT is living a life ‘on purpose’.

This is the second installment of the real life awesome feature. where Jandy speaks with people in her life who she believes are truly awesome… way more awesome than any hollywood stars. She hopes you will too.

Have you read the book the five people you meet in heaven? I recommend it if you haven’t.

I got this;

…Then, on his 83rd birthday, Eddie dies in a tragic accident, trying to save a little girl from a falling cart. With his final breath, he feels two small hands in his — and then nothing. He awakens in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a lush Garden of Eden, but a place where your earthly life is explained to you by five people who were in it. These people may have been loved ones or distant strangers. Yet each of them changed your path forever.
from here.

If that’s what heaven really is, I have no doubt that when (if) I arrive, Karly Nimmo will be one of the five people I meet.

I went to high school with Karls but we reconnected years later through myspace and developed a close friendship through a love of social media, similar self discovery journeys and a general knack of being dorks.

Karly is a constant source of inspiration to not only me but hundreds of people. After suffering depression a few years back she shifted her focus onto what makes her happy. Finding happiness lead her to her passion of helping others to be also be happy by realising their potential.

Karly is the person i go to for unjudgemental advice, she’s the person i run my ideas by for an honest opinion. She is one of my biggest supporters and one of my greatest teachers.

Karly owns her own voice over agency, killer kopy, runs her own well being website; think beautiful, runs vision board “funshops” through the soul correspondent, is currently in the processes of making one of her biggest dreams come true; The Office Collective and is a Telstra Business Women’s Awards nominee…

I’m honored to call Karly my friend.

what has been your biggest hurdle or opportunity for growth?

Hands down… depression and anxiety. Shit place to be… but wow! What an opportunity for growth! I had to make some serious life changes and if it wasn’t for depression knocking down my door (with a sledgehammer) I wouldn’t have had such a great catalyst for change. Depression made me look at everything in my life… and decide what was to stay and what was to go. I spent hours with my therapist recognising and rediscovering feelings. If it wasn’t for this, I wouldn’t be in the great flowing place I am now.

what is the best piece of advice you’ve been given and what did you do with it?

My Dad always used to say ‘Do what you love and the money will follow’. Happiness always comes before money. He also taught me ‘take calculated risks’. I’ve always had the confidence to go after what I wanted because I knew that if it was something I loved, it would work out… also to do the sums – what might this risk cost me (not necessarily financially, but emotionally, spiritually or physically)? And is it worth the pay off? If it ticks the right boxes and gives me goosebumps or a fire in my belly, I go for it.

is there an event that was your turning point?

An old staff member of mine was holidaying in Bali, had a reaction to a food allergy, and died. It was so sudden. All over, red rover. He was one of those people who seemed to squeeze every little last drop out of life…. and his life was about as juicy as one gets. I watched his facebook status’ in my feed and wondered why his life was so full and mine wasn’t. I felt twangs of jealous as I watched his life adventures unfold and his interactions with an amazing network of incredible and beautiful people that surrounded him… he had one hell of a posse and they were cool as fuck. I truly admired the guy, but at the time I just couldn’t admit that to myself. Shame really… because just like that, he was gone. And I never got the opportunity to tell him how cool I thought he was… or to sit down with him and find out what made him so passionate about life. One thing becomes very clear when someone so young and full of life dies suddenly – life is short! It can be short and sweet… or long and tedious. That decision lies completely with you! I decided I could sit around wishing I had a life like his… or I could start living one. I chose the later.

Do you have any tricks to keep you on track?

My feelings are my compass to staying on track. When I’m happy and all warm and gooey… I’m on the right track. When I’m not, I feel sad, disappointed, angry (or any emotions on the negative spectrum) I know I’ve strayed from my path. I realise that where I choose to go with those emotions is my responsibility. I can choose to wallow, or move the fuck on and change what needs to change in order to get me back on the yellow brick road.

Who or what inspires you?

It’s funny. It’s not the big names – like Oprah, or Richard Branson, or Lady Gaga. I mean, their courage to be themselves and follow their intuition and dreams is inspiring… but the people I findmost inspiring are those who choose to make change. Those people who go through their daily struggles and learn from them. The average person who has a dream and is willing to give it crack. The person who is in a shitty situation and decides to do something about it. I guess, in a nutshell, it’s those who back themselves. Whether they are a celebrity or the guy next to me at the Post Office.

What little nugget of gold would you like to leave us with?

My little nugget? The world around you is an outward expression of what’s going on within. Look at what it’s reflecting… and if you don’t like what you see, do something to change it. For example, you’re feeling judgement from those around you. Check to see if there is judgement within you. If something hits a nerve, there is a nerve there to begin with. Perhaps you are judging others, or perhaps you are judging yourself (oh yeah… that old chestnut!). At the end of the day you can’t change others behaviour, but you can change your own.

Thank you so much karls. xx

Pratima - I’m not sure of what career would be best for me?

Thank you for your question about career Pratima.
I pulled a card from the Life purpose Deck for you: The card is Strength- With this message the angels are giving you encouragement and telling you not to give up or be so hard on yourself. Confidence is required for this next step. Healing and helping others in someway stands out for me.
Everything that you have learned so far in your life has given you strengths that you can use in finding your career.
You need to think outside of the box and take this next step very seriously.
I feel that you could research your past passions and look for life areas that bring out the best in you, that you feel strongly about and that you may have previously overlooked with the fear that you could not make a career out of them. Then ask your angels to direct you, to lead you to options and possibilities and open doors for you.
Best of luck and angel blessings!

Cristina - How do I know if the guy in my life right now is the right guy for me?

Hi Cristina, The way that you know if someone or something is right for you, is to follow your true feelings. Watch how your body and inner emotions respond to this person. Do you feel tense and anxious or relaxed and happy? Are you walking away feeling positive, strong and grounded or wobbly, nervous and stressed?

The Romance angels will guide you if you ask, they know that you have been disappointed in the past but they are telling you to let go of fears about the future and stay fully in this moment. No need to rush ahead and know exactly what is in store, but to be aware and grounded in every moment that way you can enjoy the unfolding and take good care of yourself on the way.
I feel that it is too early to see if this is the right person, but you need to have good boundaries here
Angel blessings

Rebecca - I am a divorced mother of 2 and I am feeling a bit lonely sometimes and was wondering if I will find a wonderful friendship or if I will fall in love again?

Dear Rebecca, The angels know that you feel loneliness and they also feel your fear that you will be alone for a long time. They wish to heal your heart of old wounds and to bring you to a place where you are no longer afraid of being hurt. This way you will open yourself to love and that love will easily come to your life, where as right now you have barriers around you.
Take a step towards healing by breathing out old pain, regret and fear and then make an appointment to see a healing therapist to help you to release the past. This will prepare you for the new love you dearly want.
You will love again and be loved, an open heart will ensure you aittract the right sort of healthy relationship
Angel blessings

Gail - Hi Rachael, I feel like I’m in a black hole, will I be able to get out of there. Thanks

Hi Gail, Your angels wish you pull you out of this dark place and they can with your permission.
Your thoughts and fears about your past are creating a very heavy energy and making you feel that you are seperated from the Divine love. Divine energy is pure light and helps us to connect with our higherself, hope and other positive feelings that are needed to move ahead, you are never apart from this love but the dark clouds of fear make us feel blocked.
Financial fears are showing up for you too, the angels tell me that they are working to help you but you block them as you feel undeserving of anyone;s help and can be stubbornly independent!

Sit in meditation and ask the angels to clear you of the clouds of fearful thinking, breathe very deeply and imagine that you breathe in light and exhale negativity and fear. Ask them to cut attachments to others that are dragging you down. Then tell your angels that you want them to intervene in your thoughts and emotions and release you of pain energy of yourself and others.
Give them permission to guide, protect and comfort you. You may feel a release of tears, goosebumps or other energies as you do this. sit there until you feel lighter,
You may also wish to book in for a healing session with me, or another healer who can help with this energy healing.
You are in my prayers and sending you love and light

Vicki - i have been battling chronic illness for three years now and because of it i have developed chronic fatigue i feel so down and low is their any light at the end of the tunnel for me.

Hi Vicki,I am very sorry to hear this.
Yes there is light at the end of the tunnel, I feel you can turn this around and your angels are with you.
They seek your permission to intervene and ask that you become more receptive to their help.
I see Archangel Raphael is with you and he is the powerful healing angel. He is reminding you to love yourself more, with words and kindness towards yourself, also “open up” be open to help, and be receptive, you can practice receptivity by taking deeper breaths, allowing people to help you and saying yes more often than no.
It is time to be more loving towards yourself and treating yourself as you would an ailing friend.

May I make a suggestion about the use of words, words can heal or harm, as they have energy and I feel you need to change how you are describing your experience- the word battling really stood out to me, I know it must feel like that however I have seen great changes take place when someone changes their wording. Positive affirmations can change your life.
To fight an illness is exhausting, it is an invisible opponent and seems to have all the power. Take the power away by seeing the “seeming illness” as a teacher rather than an enemy, it is within your body and it has come to show you something that needs to change so you can live a more peaceful healthy life. Ask it what it’s message is for you, you may have already intuited that it is showing you something.
See your self as ‘dissolving the illness” rather than fighting it. Send it love, See Archangel Raphaels green light filling your body and dissolving any signs of disease, disharmony and pain this is a powerful way to heal.
Pay attention to repetitive positive thoughts as they have messages for you guiding you to your heealing

Manifesting. It comes straight after Gratitude in the new age dictionary. The ability to pull anything you want into your life. It is made out to be a skill you have to develop over time, something that takes practice, work, development . And you have to be patient. Wait for the stars to align, your wishes to be granted, a cosmic alignment to occur so that your desire becomes manifest.

Ba bloody humbug.

Anyone who knows me knows I am the most impatient person on the planet. I don’t have time to wait for universes to get their shit together to deliver to me the necessary tools to complete my mission. I need certain things RIGHT NOW. I used to be one of the patient praying lot. And it got me – um, NOWHERE. I remember speaking with this amazing wise woman very early on in my career as a practitioner and moaning – “I do all the right things, meditate, pray, devotion, tithing, yoga, visualising blah blah blah and yet, nothing is changing.” She looked at me with a very mischievous grin and said “You forgot to tell them WHEN you need it.”

This is the last little piece of the manifesting puzzle that we are never taught. We concentrate on the “what”, but most often we forget the “when”. Energy is energy and this world, as we know, is just a solidified dimension of energy. How fast does energy travel? As fast as you want it to. And what rules does it obey? The ones you set.

I’ll give you a small example.

We held a visionboarding workshop last weekend. As a fun exercise, we asked all the participants to write something they would like to manifest within the NEXT WEEK. Laughingly, I said, a swim with a dolphin. Only because it is so trite and virtually meaningless to me. It was a throw away line. A cosmic laugh. But beware – the cosmos is always listening. Hence the phrase – be careful what you wish for. At the end of the workshop we all pull a guidance card from a pack. You can by now guess what mine was – a girl riding a dolphin…

I put it out there, but I did not specify exactly what I wanted – I got it anyway, in a fashion. But the point was, my mindest was in Instant Manifestation mode. And that is exactly what i was delivered…..

This is the first instalment of the real life awesome feature for our very own Guinea Pig, Jandy. Each week she speaks with people in her life who she believes are truly awesome… way more awesome than any hollywood stars. She hopes you will too.

I am honored beyond words by the effort, strength and truth that the girls I’ve spoken to already have put into their words. For some of them it has been soul searching and sometimes even bought tears. I think it may have been as rewarding for them to write their stories as it for us to read them.

So without further ado, let me tell you a little about carla, this weeks real life awesome lady.

Carls has been one of my closest friends for over 24 years. Someone with good strong morals, the product of a good upbringing. Carla has always been in to sport… In high school she excelled in netball and i remember her struggling with “who am i if i’m not a netballer” for a while after quiting – but she chose to chase another dream. These days she’s a triathlete and has dedicated her life to being the best she can. One has to admire her determination. Everything in her life is carefully organised to fit into her sport; where she lives, where she works, what she eats, how often she socialises. She’s sacrificed so much and as a result, has conquered her ultimate dream of racing in the hawaiian ironman, although her goals keep evolving. (another thing i admire about her).

She can ride a bike for longer than i would want to drive a car, if that’s not awesome, i don’t know what is!

Carla inspires me constantly, she recently had a bad accident while riding and i expected her answers to focus on it, she was as surprised as me that they didn’t.

“I could have easily commented on it in questions 2 or 4. The crash will have taken out about 6months of this year in terms of training, which in my world is a ridiculous length of time not to be training, but I didn’t remember it when I looked back (whilst sitting here in a sling!). I guess I don’t see it affecting my long term goals in the sport???”
real life awesome personified.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I love triathlon and try to fit work around racing and traveling! Apparently it should be the other way around, but I decided about 3-4 years ago that life’s too short. Triathlon has taken me all over the world and tested my mental and physical strength. I feel like I’ve just scratched the surface in terms of my racing potential, triathlon is a really frustrating sport where you just get sucked in, and I’m quite a competitive type personality… to say the least. I just haven’t yet been able to achieve the level of performance I want in the sport.

I’ve started a new role at work which is finally putting some of my studies to good use. I’m looking forward to switching my mind back on, and well as training for another Ironman next year.

2. What has been your biggest hurdle or opportunity for growth?

Probably when i retired from Netball I lost any direction or feeling of belonging, and it was really hard to think that I wouldn’t be any good at a sport anymore. There was a period of about 6 -12months when I did nothing and got really really fat and could have easily continued down that path and stayed unhappy. When i decided to turn things around and start training with a Triathlon club it was just to shed a few kg’s, I never thought it would lead me to where I am today. That one decision to join the club had seen me get fit, travel to world, make some awesome friends and even meet my love!

3. What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given and what did you do with it?

I’m not sure if I have any one piece of advice thats stuck, but the way my mum and dad raised me was to believe that I could do anything I wanted to do in life…. I think that advice has been invaluable and I’ve never felt restricted in dreaming.

4. Is there an event that was your turning point?

Two actually; The first was my first ironman in 2005 (which took me 13hrs 26ish minutes to finish). I realised two things;1. I loved the sport (one of the best memories I have is getting out of the water after the swim and seeing my mum screaming in excitement to see me… I ran straight over and gave her a hug mid race, put a smile on my face for the rest of the day). 2. I hated being bad at it.

The second turning point was 2011 Hawaiian Ironman. After a huge year, and a tiring but good preparation things went a little pear shaped during the race which had me nearly pulled off the course – which would been a DNF next to my name. The alternative was to walk the marathon, I ended up walking the entire marathon. It gave me a fair bit of time (i think more than 7 hrs) to have a think about why I was still in sport. And I decided that my body and mind was tired, it had been a crazy 3 years. But…. 1. I still loved the sport and 2. I still hated being bad at it.

5. Do you have any tricks to keep you on track?

I am definitely a morning trainer, so generally speaking I know if I get up early and do my morning session, the rest of the day flow on well. I also look for ‘red flags’ that warn me that I’m heading off track. An early sign is if I start over-eating – I find it hard with the longer distance training to balance the right intake as I’m always hungry!! Another sign is if I start dreading training session that generally means I might be a little too tired and need some extra rest.

6. Who or what inspires you?

People that just get it done. They set a goal, and have the discipline/willpower to stick with it. Not just with sport, anything in life. People that have long term self-discipline I think are incredible.

What little nugget of gold would you like to leave us with?

- if your dreams aren’t scaring you, then they’re not big enough

Character is defined by what we do when it is inconvenient, and no-one is watching.

Thank you so much for being a part of real life awesome Carls, i couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of starting things off. xxx

Patricia: With 22 million people on this planet, why can’t I find my tribe?

Patricia, Thank you for your question. I feel that you are feeling disconnected and in need of some like minded friends and family. The Angels understand that feeling which can come from a sense of being different and perhaps some challenging relationships in your life.My first sense about you is that you may fit into the “Indigo” energy, an Indigo person is an individual with a high sensitivity to negative emotions in others, pollution, chemicals and toxins in foods, you may find that strong beliefs and reactions to negative media or cruelty and other injustices. Just feeling sensitive can make you feel lost because it can seem that many other people do not share your feelings or responses and even seem to look down on you for how you are. The angels say that the key for you is to clear yourself regularly of lower energies. You can ask them to cleanse your energy and guide you towards people who match your positive aspects, they can help you to accept yourself and find that in others.
The Card is “Third eye chakra” See with love, look for the good in people, and pull your focus away from what is different or “wrong” as you do this you alter your energy and begin to attract like minds towards you.Focus on what you want to see, avoid people that drain you and release your painful feelings about them. We are all “one” in truth, when you focus on that you begin to see it and life changes. Affirm “I am surrounded by like minded people, I transmit love and look for love in everyone as I do so, my tribe and I effortlessly find one other “

Kim: Is this new man in my life from my home town going to be my husband in the future? Thank you

Dear Kim, Thank you for asking the angels about your love life.
The Angel card is “Calling in your Soulmate” the angels have heard your request for a soul mate relationship and they are answering your prayers, they want you to remain patient above all else. Do not rush this brand new relationship with thoughts of future and worries about whether he is the one. Enjoy the present moments that you have with this new man, keep your eyes and ears open and breath. You are safe, there is time and you do not need to rush, in fact by forcing things even on a mental level you could sabotage yourself or miss important signs and information. Go with the flow, and keep your thoughts focused on enjoying each moment. Trust your feelings and take time out for yourself too.Call in your angels often to help you to be patient and present. They are with you
wishing you happiness.

Janet: I am unsure whether to go ahead with my home based business and book writing. May I please have Angelic input please x x x x Thankyou

Dear Janette, Thank you for your question, what a wonderful new beginning that you are experiencing.
The angels are encouraging you to move towards your goal and do not let fear stand in the way. However, careful planning is required and I feel you need to be prepared. Definitely start writing straight away and make plans to work from home. Perhaps you can break into it slowly so that you support yourself on the way. the Angel card is “Earth Angel” you are a light worker responding to your inner guidance to help others. I feel with careful step by step planning your dream will come true. Do not procrastinate!

Stacy: What is holding me back from not being able to lose weight?

Dear Stacey, the angels want you to imagine what it is going to be like to be at your destination. To be your ideal weght – now don’t go into how or how much hard work it is going to be, for that is exactly what is blocking you, you see it as a difficult challenge and the angels reassure you that it is not, they are on your side as your coaches, guides and motivators. See yourself as happy, healthy and peaceful about your body and yourself. As you focus on this feeling you bring it towards you and it becomes true for you, your body will follow suit by providing whatever you need to feel this way all the time. Ask your Angels to steer you to situations, foods and people that will help you with your goal and ask them to motivate you. You can also ask them to clear your cravings or unhealthy habits. You can do it!
I feel like you are a sensitive emotional person and this is a great gift but you fear that with out the weight to protect you that you will FEEL everything more deeply and the pain will be unbearable.
It will not, with the angels to guide you and some information to help you to manage your energy, sensitivity and emotions you will be flying high and in a brand new place emotionally , physically and in all ways.
I am happy to send you some information about handling sensitivity if you visit my website and email me.

We are told by all the great motivators and success stories that it is the key to having a big full life. Psychological studies have even been conducted to prove that gratitude increases your enjoyment of life and hence, your overall happiness. So what is it? And whi is it so hard to do?

Have you ever really watched your thoughts? Have you ever dedicated a day to counting the thoughts that play in your mind? How many of them are complaints? How many worries? How many are moments of thanks? I dare you to do it one day – the outcome will suprise you.

Thoughts become things – it is a simple mantra, but one that has proven itself tru over and over again – time and time again. If your daily thoughts are littered with complaints and worries, they are the things you will notice most in your lie. If you, on the other hand, spend most of your time actively searching for the good things in your life, you are going to get more and more and more of them.

Simple, Right?

BUT, I hear you say – my life sux. Everything goes wrong, Im broke, im lonely, im unhappy. I do not have anything to be grateful for.

And i say in return: RUBBISH. Start with the smallest things. Are you breating? Did you wake up this morning? Did the earth turn and the sun reappear in the sky? Did you have skin to cover your body, and clothes to cover your skin? Gratitude starts with the smallest of things…

How often we stress, worry and lose our biscuit over the smallest thing – an inconvenient red light, a lost parking space, a long line to wait in, split milk, yet we fail to apply the same logic to gratitude. I ssy stress the small stuff – but the RIGHT small stuff.

Today I challenged all my GRATITuesday peeps to keep a diary for the day and actively look for as many moments to be grateful in their day as they possibly could. I did it, and I promised to share, just to show, even when you think you don’t, there are a GAZILLION things o be greatful for in one simple day.

Here is my Tuesday.

Chance meeting

Doll workshops – moments in time

Exciting collaborations

A wink from a stranger

Relationships Are Easy – 3 Keys To Bliss

I can hear you as you have read this title say “REALLY?! Are you sure about that?!”

As a psychic strategist, I have seen thousands of clients and relationships are always the hot topic.

Let’s take the time to break it down and make it simple.

1. WHAT IS FOMO?

It stands for fear of missing out! I see clients be fuelled by fear. Wanting children and marriage and thinking it might not happen.

SOLUTION:

Everything you speak, you speak into existence. You get what you pitch for. What would it look like and how would it feel to experience what you are asking for from a state of trust?

Here are some really cool starter questions to get you going and begin to affirm what you really want.

I’ve decided that…

I love how it feels knowing….

I am excited at the thought of….

I am in the process of planning and preparing for…

This is a much better alternative than screaming to Universe “Where is he?” or “I know it’s never going to happen!”

2. STOP STRUGGLING.

I see clients having this internal battle to be in a relationship. They set a timeframe to find anyone and if that doesn’t work, plan B is up their sleeve and there begins the search and chasing again.

SOLUTION:

Trust the process. Believe it and he will come. Be relaxed in the process and allow him to meet the authentic you, not the ‘needy little me’.

Those who are certain of the desired outcome happening will wait. They wait without the panic and anxiety, and they don’t freak out.

3. I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH… or pretty enough, skinny enough or smart enough, blah blah blah!

Can we stop buying into this and judging ourselves? Go down that line of ‘I am not good enough’ and you’ll keep adding to the list. These excuses create the barriers in receiving.

SOLUTION:

All your friends think you are pretty darn fabulous. Get them to share what are the top 3 things that stand out for them about you. Start believing it and stepping into the greatness of you.

It is an inside job, your inner world always creates the outer world.

Always.

Make it shine.

Another timer exercise. Set a timer to go off once an hour, when you hear it, adjust your posture. My yoga teacher always said that there was a direct correlation between your posture and your emotional state. That shifting your posture can shift your mood. So, each time you hear the buzzer, roll your shoulders up to your ears – around and down, lift your chest, and straighten your back. Imagine a string pulling the centre of your head up to the skies and uncross your legs (if they are crossed). ***

It took me a long time to get into this challenge – like about 4 weeks I think! It’s not that I didn’t want to do it – when Karly gave me the challenge I was excited to tackle it. It’s just that day to day life got in the way. I’d set my timer and it all went well for the first one or two each morning but as the day went on and I got caught up with work or whatever else I was doing I would forget about the challenge.

But then in the past week I realised that I was hearing the buzzer a lot more and accordingly adjusting my posture more often. By the end of the week I was rolling my shoulders, lifting my chest and straightening my back while at work, while driving my car, even while pushing the trolley through woollies.

I think it really is true, that shifting your posture can shift your mood. And it got me thinking even deeper than that. I’ve always had a poor posture, but years of being sad and wanting to fade into the back ground has really taken its toll. A couple of weeks ago I spent some time with a person I didn’t know very well, a person who I found intimidating and I realised that the whole time I was with them, I was hunched over. I was like a scared little puppy that had just weed on the new rug. I was even asked at one stage if I felt uncomfortable. I don’t think he meant physically, but I do think the question came as a result of my poor posture. I went there feeling unsure of myself and therefore I adopted a cowardly, submissive stance, which made me feel still more unsecure. And I do it all the time, at work, in public, even with my friends.

It’s no wonder that I have been known to be described as an acquired taste, after all – who wants to strike up conversation with the sad little shy girl who looks like she wants to be anywhere but here.

So, like the nerd I am, I started googling the emotional effects of posture and there was no denying that Karlys yoga teacher was right. Basically, if you’re holding a certain posture, you feel a certain way about yourself and that’s the message you send out to everyone around you, but most importantly, it’s the message you give to yourself. For good or for bad.

Anyway, I’m rambling when all I really want to say is that I found this challenge to be really beneficial – physically and emotionally (when I finally got into it!), and it’s one that I highly recommend and one that I’ll continue doing – until it hopefully becomes second nature and I don’t need a buzzer to remind me to stand up straight.

*** Jandy Resch is embracing the challenges of “finding herself” after huge life changes last year. Determined to be happy and confident, she’s ready to try new things and is throwing herself head first into Karly’s monthly challenges. Jandy writes the blog “my own wings” and dabbles in drawing a little… she’s a masterpiece in her own right. ***

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Healers by Claire Louise Hay

Like artists, musicians and anybody using their gifts, healers can often find themselves in a struggle to live their passion.

Gone are the days of being taken under the wing of a religion funded by donations, healers are choosing to honour their unique spiritual paths and to help others to find their own connection to source from within themselves. This leaves each healer the task of being self-supported, which brings with it its own unique lessons.

I am blessed to be a healer with a background in business. My unique combination of gifts and experience attracts healers to me. Over my many years of being a full-time healer I have helped thousands of healers to transform their own lives, empower themselves and start living their passion.

There are 7 habits of highly effective healers:

1. Focus on love

Healers channel universal energy. Universal energy is love. However, love is not always nice; love often delivers lessons. Healing can feel confronting and unpleasant whilst going through it. As a healer it is important to leave your ego behind. Your job is not to please people but to help people to heal. Customers will sometimes have negative emotional reactions to your work if you are doing a good job! Do not expect or require constant positive feedback. 99% of my customers who have had initial negative emotional reactions to my work have got back to me after a few weeks apologising for their behaviour saying that the truth was hard to hear. Effective healers give the help that is required, do not need praise and are not stopped by criticism.

2. Love what is

A healers path is just that: a path. There is no goal, just constant growth and expansion. Through your desires you are constantly reinventing your goals and adding steps to your path. Your direction is completely your creation. As a healer you are not expected to be perfect, yet it is advisable to be constantly active on your own healing path. There will be times when you look back to see that the help that you gave someone in the past is no longer aligned with you. This is only to be expected if you are growing and expanding, constantly improving. However, those that you can help are attracted to your energy and therefore need what you offer at the time it is given. It does not serve anyone to look back with regret. Effective healers love their own unfolding and trust in what they give.

3. Believe in themselves

Healers are channels and so is everybody else with any skill or knowledge in this world. Healer spirits, angels, entities,… work through healers as an equal to the healers own spirit or higher self. This means that as a healer you are not just channeling healing energy from other spirits, but also from your own spirit. Without your own desire, passion, creativity, effort, time and energy, the healing connection that you embody would not exist. You are the creative force behind what you do. The healing spirits who work with you receive as much from you as you receive from them. They get to experience the creative process through you. We are all creators, humans and pure spirit alike, and we work together as co-creators. Effective healers believe in themselves, their abilities and take ownership of their own important part in the process.

4. Are creative

It is great to learn from other healers but not to copy them. Every healer has their own unique life path which has given them the experiences, the skills, the knowledge and the desire to be able to help others to heal themselves. Every healer as their own unique energy footprint and therefore attracts like-energy customers to them. There is no competition between healers who are being themselves; just cooperation. However, there can be competition between healers who are copying others. Let your own experiences forge your own healing path, let your own healing path drive your desire to help others, let the knowledge that has come from that path mold what you give. Effective healers learn as much as they can from others and offer their unique gifts to the world.

5. Take Action

If you wanted to just hold the energy, or to meditate constantly, then you would have remained in the spirit form of pure consciousness. Instead, you incarnated on Earth. You did this because you wanted to experience your creativity in a more dense, physical plane. You came here to expand, learn, grow, create. Some healers think that they came here just to help others: this is not true. You came to expand your own awareness and experience in your interest area of healing as much as you came to help others. So your healing work is as self-serving as any other work that you could do. Your interest in healing at a higher self level brought you here to indulge yourself in learning more about it. Effective healers indulge themselves in healing and put all of their learning into action.

6. Allow abundance

Healers often have such a focus on giving that they forget to allow themselves to receive. When there is an inbalance between giving and receiving the universe can only give lessons: The Healing Path to Abundance. Until you can allow yourself to receive the balance of energy back that you want to give, you limit the amount of energy that you can give. So if you are out of balance the universe holds those people that you could help away from you. Inbalance of giving and receiving shows up as limited funds, limited customers, yo-yoing finances, inability to reach and help more people. Abundance in plenty is available to everyone as a birth right. You do not need to prove your worth, nor in fact do anything in particular to receive it. All is required is for you to allow it. Effective healers allow the balance of giving and receiving abundance to flow.

7. Speak their truth

Healer spirits want to incarnate into an experience that will ensure their direction in life. As a healer you will have chosen your parents and surroundings very carefully so that you would experience the conditions that would lead you to desire to heal yourself, to create your healing path from this desire, to follow that healing path, to gain the knowledge and experience from doing so, to pass that knowledge on to others. Your life path experience is at the core of what you can give as a healer. You attract to you those people that you are one step ahead of, so that you can help them to heal themselves in the way that you have healed yourself. The more you heal yourself, the more you can help others. Effective healers draw on their own life experience and healing to best help others to heal themselves.
